This spring the boys played flag football. Every Saturday we sweated to death at the fields because we were there from 2-5pm. They were on different teams because of their age.
Samuel loved every second he played football. This was the second season in a row that he played flag football. He enjoyed being quarterback, but I think he especially enjoyed played defense. Samuel can be quite aggressive and defense seems to suit him. As the season progressed his ability to take the right angle on defense improved so he pulled more flags.

On the other hand, Jonah enjoyed football at the start of the season. By the last game or two, Jonah really could have cared less about football. The same thing happened last year with t-ball. Jonah would prefer to be in the gym. He never is bored there and he so rarely has an excuse to miss gymnastics practice. Drew and I really believe that Jonah is too young to pigeon hole himself in a sport, but no other sport holds his interest beyond casual fun play. I think we have finally decided that Jonah just wants to be a gymnast. Ball sports are just a fun backyard activity for him at the moment.

Who knows what the future hold for Samuel as he continues to decide what sports he likes to play. Someday maybe Jonah will decide to play a ball sport again. Until then I think we will be spending lots of time watching him learn his level 7 skills.
Wow! Look at Samuel go. I'm sure it's difficult for an athletic boy like him to decide on one single sport to excel in, but I believe he won't have any trouble juggling two sports, seeing how passionate he is. I can also see a bright sports-filled future for Jonah as well. Hahaha! Thanks for sharing that, Kortni! All the best to your family! :)
