Emma's 5th grade graduation

Emma celebrated the end of 5th grade today.  It was the 5th Grade Appreciation and Graduation Day at Haude Elementary.

So, in two days when the school year is officially over Emma will be a 6th grader in waiting.  That just blows my mind and honestly caused a few tears to fall!

The theme was "Life is a Highway".  The morning began with the graduation ceremony that included a special song written by the music teacher and a long, but fun slideshow.

Awards were next followed by yearbook signing time.  Lunch was catered by Fuddruckers and served to the 5th graders by the parents.  Emma said it was the best meal she had ever eaten at Haude.

Emma received awards for beating the bell, All A-B honor roll, All E's for conduct, helping with morning announcements, being a safety patrol, and from her teacher...being a Marvelous and Magnificent student as well as a Role Model to others.  Drew and I are so proud of Emma.

Emma, Ashlynn, and Madi...very good friends and wonderful girls!

The afternoon was filled with games, jumpers, a photo booth, and general silliness.  Tomorrow night there will be a swim party.

I asked Emma on Sunday if she was excited for her last week of 5th grade.  Her answer was less than enthusiastic.  After some discussion she agreed that it would be a bittersweet week.  She is sad to be leaving Haude, but also excited to start at Strack in the fall.  I feel just like she does!  This growing up business is hard for both of us!

But, Drew and I know Emma is on to bigger and better things.  She will continue to grow as a student and as a person.  We cannot wait to walk the journey of middle school with Emma.
