Our last day in NC we took a boat ride to Beaufort. It is about an hour from the house to Beaufort boating in the Neuse River down the Intercoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean. It is super peaceful with lots of pretty scenery to help pass the time. We went last year and Samuel had his big injury (trip to the ER and a huge bummer). This year we were determined to have a safe, fun trip!

beautiful day to be on the water |
The kids read and chatted on the way there. Once in Beaufort we boated some in the Atlantic before docking for lunch, touring, and some shopping.

Us all looking at the same thing at the same time (who knows what) just makes me laugh |
After lunch we anchored at the beach so the kids could swim and play. The beach was the site of the great tragedy last year. So, we did not venture down the beach that far. Instead, the kids swam more and played in the nice sand.
It was apparently a very tiring day because this happened on the way back...
